RELEASE NOTES STELLADAT –TC Firmware VERSION 3.00

 

  1. INTRODUCTION

    2. This bulletin describes operating characteristics and limitations implemented by Time Code Dat version 3.00 software. The new 3.00 Version is the first release to support fully the STELLADAT II machine.

  2. COMPATIBILITY WITH STELLADAT I

    3. This version is compatible with earlier STELLADAT machines and can be used in those, provided they are fitted with at least Version 5.00 of the STELLADAT motherboard software.

  3. FULL SUPPORT OF DOUBLE SPEED 96kHz 2 Tracks or 48kHz 4 Tracks

    4. This version implements a new pro-Dat Time Code encoding to tape that offers full record/playback functionality for users running in High Sampling Rate modes. Warning : this is actually the first machine world-wide to support DAT Time Code in double speed mode and the protocol it uses to encode SMPTE/EBU TC to tape has not yet gone through any standardization process. While we hope to set the standard, there is no guarantee that other manufacturers will accept our proposal. It might therefore have to be modified in the future.

  4. CORRECTED MIDNIGHT TRANSITION IN 30 DF MODE

    5. Corrected the midnight transition in 30 frames/sec with Drop Frame.

  5. KNOWN ISSUES

There is currently a slight drift when using the machine in 25 frames/sec TC at a 44.1kHz sampling rates. Will be corrected in an ulterior relase.
